IronFit — Waiver, Assumption of Risk and Consent

IronFit is an informal, volunteer-run community workout group among friends — not a registered business and not a professional fitness service. The people who organise and coach are volunteers.
Please read this before you accept. If anything is unclear, ask a coach.
1. I'm joining by choice. I voluntarily take part in IronFit workouts, and I can stop any session at any time without giving a reason.
2. I understand the risks. Exercise can cause injury, accidents or medical events — strains, tears, sprains, breaks, back and head injuries, injury from dropped equipment including someone else's, cardiac events, heat exhaustion, and in rare cases serious harm or death. These risks exist even with sound equipment and good coaching, and some come from my own choices about load and intensity. I accept full responsibility for my own health and safety during workouts and while using equipment.
3. I'll tell a coach about my health. I confirm I'm physically able to exercise. IronFit doesn't store health information in the app, so it's on me to speak up: I'll tell a coach before I train about any condition, injury or medication that affects my safety — and whenever it changes. Coaches can only work around what they know about.
I'll stop and tell someone if I feel chest pain, dizziness, unusual breathlessness, muscle pain far beyond normal soreness, or if my urine turns dark after training.
4. I'll follow instructions. I'll follow gym rules and coaches' instructions, ask when I'm unsure, and not train while unwell or under the influence. A coach may ask me to scale or sit out a session.
5. Emergency. I consent to basic first aid if needed, and to an ambulance being called. Organisers aren't medical professionals. I'm responsible for the cost of any treatment or transport, and IronFit may contact my emergency contact and share what's needed to help me.
6. Responsibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, IronFit organisers, volunteers and fellow members are not liable for injuries, accidents or health issues occurring during or after participation. This doesn't exclude liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything that can't lawfully be excluded.
7. Under 18. If I'm under 18, a parent or legal guardian accepts this on my behalf and confirms they've read it and consent to my taking part.
By accepting, I confirm I've read and understood this, that what I've said about my health is true, and that I'm accepting freely. My electronic acceptance has the same effect as a signature.
